Enter our Reading Week Simone Felice giveaway contest

It's Reading Week for most Canadian students, so why not keep you busy with some literature?
We've got three copies of Black Jesus by the multi-talented Simone Felice, who not only crafts music, but also moonlights as an accomplished author. Simone has shared his work at the Brisbane Writers Festival along with spots ranging from the legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe in New York City to London, Los Angeles, Harvard University, San Francisco and Berlin. His work has also been heralded by the BBC. Black Jesus is Simone's third novel.
Want a copy? Simply email info@dinealonerecords with the date that his self-titled LP comes out in Canada, and we'll pick Friday.
Here's a synopsis:
"A young marine returns from Iraq, blinded and scarred by a roadside bomb and harboring a terrible secret. Called Black Jesus by his fellow soldiers on account of his name being White and his birthday being Christmas Day, he has returned to his decaying home town to sit in the back of his mother's junkshop, pop OxyContin and try to forget what he's seen. Into his life one day rides Gloria, a mysterious young dancer who is fleeing darkness and violence of a different kind. Part love story, part protest at the broken promises lying at the heart of the American Dream, Black Jesus is a passionate, twisted hymn to the marginalized and forgotten.

Yukon Blonde releases "Stairway" video
With a European tour wrapping up, and a massive North American run about to kick off, the Vancouver quartet has released a brand new video for their first single, "Stairway," off the forthcoming Tiger Talk (out March 20).
The video premiered on The Digital Fix (UK), Consequence of Sound (US), and AUX Canada - here's some info from AUX:
Directed by Joy Broadbent and filmed by Justin Broadbent in locations in Toronto’s Bloorcourt neighbourhood, the video took its cues from the song’s lyrics of being on the road and missing home.
“Brandon [is] in a dreamlike state, remembering and longing for all the wonderfully mundane things you do at home like cleaning or washing dishes,” the band said in a statement. “In the dream he finds these apparitions which seem to be memories of people and places he misses from home, from which he feels slightly detached from being away so long, and yet he can always return and connect with them in the end.”
Joy describes Brandon’s character as a “socially unaware, highly strung bachelor.” His domestic routine is burdened by the apparitions at first, but Broadbent helps him “remember to unwind and go with the flow.”
